Meaning in life varies from person to person and couple to couple. However, there seems to be some lack of certainty and mystery surrounding the whole concept of meaning in life, because, no matter how much you try, you might fail, either because you haven’t made much progress in your life or because you are struggling with some serious issues.
In the metaphysical sense, life is not always about how you conduct your existence, but the answer may lie in the social expectation of raising a family and children.
The meaning of life is also affected by our upbringing, personality, attitude towards life, the values we inherit from our families, and how we make decisions as we embark upon our life journey.
Existential philosophers believe life is a sordid story mired with the senseless pursuit of an illusion that is never out there. Some of these philosophers, like Albert Camus, regard life as totally absurd. The perennial question that they ask is ‘What are we doing here exactly?’
Ultimately, life is the story of who you are, what you want out of it, and how you enculturated yourself.
